Submissions that do not follow these rules will not be considered:
1. Check that the poem you’re submitting hasn’t been featured here already. All poets will be tagged according to name—e.g. http://sharingpoetry.tumblr.com/tagged/Emily+Dickinson will bring up all poems by Emily Dickinson that have been submitted and featured on Sharing Poetry. We do not feature poems more than once. Duplicate submissions will be deleted immediately. Check out our new directory for an alphabetical list of poets featured here, but note that it is out of date and tags are the best way.
2. Submit one poem for each submission.
3. Maintain the original line and stanza breaks, capitalization, and provide a source link, if applicable, for the poem you’re submitting. Poems submitted that do not retain the original poem’s rendering of lines, spelling, etc. will not be published.
4. Poetry not in English is encouraged, but try to include a published translation, if possible, to ensure it reaches the wider readership of those following this Tumblr. Always give translation information.
5. No personal poetry. This is not a place to share your own poetry: poetry by published poets only. There are many other Tumblrs devoted to personal poetry as well as the #poetry spotlight tag. Sharing Poetry is not the venue for personal poetry.
